BT-016 Frequently asked questions

Q: How will the BT-016 compare to the BT-014 for durability?  
A: Tests have shown that the BT-016 should last around 30% longer than the BT-014 when used on a 1000cc sports bike.

Q: The BT-016 has far fewer tread grooves. Will this affect the wet weather performance?
A: Bridgestone use advanced 3D Hydro planning software to develop new products and this has shown that the wet weather performance is as good as the BT-014. This is supported by comprehensive trials with test riders.

Q: Can the BT-016 be used with any other Bridgestone product?
A: Testing has not yet taken place with other Bridgestone products, so we are unable to approve a mixed pair unless otherwise stated in the 2008 fitment guide.

Q: Will I be able to use the BT-016 for track days?
A: Yes, the BT-016 will offer more than enough grip for track day use for the average rider.

Q: Will they cost much more than the BT-014?
A: Yes, around 5% more but will depend on where you purchase them from.

Q: Are the BT-016's really derived from MotoGP?
A: Yes, the carcass and actual compounds used on the BT-016 will of course differ from those used in MotoGP, but the technology of using the 5 different strips of rubber has filtered down from MotoGP.
